Get Ready For Eatin’, Drinkin’ and Competin’ at the
Swashbuckler Pyrate Feaste
All hands on deck for a treasure trove of fantastic foods, handcrafted brews and piratical shenanigans at the Swashbuckler Pyrate Feaste. Friday and Saturday evenings in April, would-be pirates can carouse with scurvy sea dogs and a dastardly captain whose identity is a bigger secret that the location of Davy Jones’ locker while devouring a five course meal. Upon arriving at the Swashbuckler Brewery & Restaurant on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, feasters will be shanghaied and pressed into service by two salty sailors vying to become the Captain’s new First Mate. Seems the Captain was not pleased with the last crew and threw them overboard just before the ship made port. So, a new crew is needed, but first their mettle must be tested. Attending landlubbers will have to prove they are, playing piratical games,
making toasts and, best of all, eating without utensils.

The evening’s menu will feature the flavors of the Caribbean. The feast will begin with freshly prepared hand-cut tortilla chips topped with a pineapple, sweet pepper and mango salsa. A spicy scallop, shrimp and crab seafood gumbo and a crusty dense loaf of beer bread flavored with the Swashbuckler’s own Red Sea Amber microbrew will follow. The main course will feature jerked pork and pineapple skewers grilled over an open fire and tequila spiked chicken breasts while a delectable dessert of banana and mango crisp brings the feast to a close. Swashbuckler ales and award-winning Mount Hope wines will quench even the driest palates.

Seating for the adult only voyage of the Swashbuckler Pyrate Feaste is 7:30 P.M. on Fridays and 4 P.M. and 8 P.M. on Saturdays. Admission is $39.95 and includes two complimentary drink tokens for Swashbuckler Ales and Mount Hope Wines. This show is not appropriate for patrons under the age of 18. Anyone under the age of 21 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
Special Children’s Pyrate Feaste

Children are invited to form their own pint-sized crew of sea-faring adventurers at the special Children’s Pyrate Feaste Saturdays, April 18 and 25, at 12:30 P.M. Young scallywags must prove themselves worthy of the title booty plunderin’ buccaneer before the Captain will induct them into the crew. Get ready to sing sea chanteys, walk with a peg leg and, best of all, eat without utensils at this lunch of piratical proportions. The menu will feature fried chicken drums, potato wedges, scurvy curling fresh fruit sticks and dirt cake dessert. Admission is $13.00 for children and adults.

Seating is limited for the Swashbuckler Pyrate Feaste and special Children’s Pyrate Feaste. Tickets can be purchased at PaRenFaire.com or by calling the box office at 717.665.7021.

Mount Hope Estate & Winery, home of the Swashbuckler Brewery & Restaurant and the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, is located on Route 72, ½ mile south of PA Turnpike exit 266, 15 miles north of Lancaster and 14 miles east of Hershey.
