General Information

OUR SEASON AT MOUNT HOPE ESTATE & WINERY

So many people think that Mount Hope Estate & Winery is solely the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire running during the late summer and fall months only. Located 15 miles north of Lancaster, PA and 13 miles east of Hershey, we are so much more, indeed. Mount Hope Estate & Winery is an historic estate featuring spectacular indoor and outdoor entertainment on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire running almost year round providing incredible entertainment just for you.

February-April

Our season begins in February, March and April with special shows such as the Seance in the Mansion, Pyrate Feaste in the Swashbuckler Pub and of course Comedy in the Pub.

May

May kicks off our annual Great Green America Fest, a celebration of the Earth in an entertaining, educating environment with music, presentations, and more all geared toward providing valuable information, wares, and food all for our Green Earth and what we can do to help.

And just when you thought May was over, the Great Pennsylvania Flavor Fest begins celebrating the tastes of Pennsylvania with lots of food, entertainment, and crafts.

June

June ushers in the ever popular and fantastically fun Celtic Fling & Highland Games. Scotland, Ireland, and the rest of the Celtic Nations are celebrated in this grand event bringing you the music, culture, food, the merchants and artisans and a whole lot more all wrapped up in an incredibly entertaining weekend.

August-October

July is spent preparing for the grandest event here upon the grounds of Mount Hope Estate & Winery, the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire, 12 weekends dedicated to a 32-acre re-creation of a 16th century village and marketplace. Join hundreds of colorfully costumed merriemakers including the Queen, Knights on horseback, Jesters, Jugglers, Musicians, hundreds of craftsmen, merchants and artisans, 13 stages, over 25 royal kitchen, and a whole lot more as we sing, dance, perform, cook and create our way into your hearts. Visit soon and visit often!

During August and September the Mansion opens up for Friday Knights at the Improv in which the cast of the Renaissance Faire gather together to bring you some of the funniest improv comedy games you will ever witness tickling your funny bone all the way.

November

In November the doors of the 225 year old Victorian Mount Hope Mansion swing wide and usher you into the mystery and macabre of Edgar Allan Poe Evermore. The first floor of the Mansion is turned into intimate theatres where you witness first hand a live presentation of Poe's favorite works. Enjoy wine by the glass and mingle with literary and fictional characters of the time.

December

We deck the halls with boughs of holly in December as Mount Hope Mansion turns into a grand celebration of a Charles Dickens Victorian Christmas and A Dickens of a Christmas. The ornate first floor of this grand Victorian structure is bedecked in all its holiday finery. Warm your hands by the fire, have a glass of holiday wine and hear the tale of a Christmas Carol or other stories of this era. An incredibly festive time great for the whole family.

The year comes to a close with a Victorian Gala on New Years Eve. This limited seating event is a grand gala with ballroom dancing, Victorian dress, an incredible gourmet meal, music and a lot more.

Year Round

And don't forget Mount Hope Wines at our Carriage House Wine Shop on the Grounds of Mount Hope and the Wine Gallery in Bird-in-Hand PA just outside Intercourse, both open year round for your wine shopping and gift giving pleasure!

So as you can see, Mount Hope has a lot to offer the entire family. If you've never been to any of our events, we invite you to come and experience the fantasy first-hand, we're sure you'll have a great time!
