Rascals, Rogues and Pyrates abound, as the Shire is besieged by unscrupulous sailors. Swashbuckler Brew will flow and the sea shanties will be sung on this fine "Argg"-ust weekend.

Every week we supply you, our guests, with a Daily Writ of the special shows, foods, wares and more, as well as a Daily Schedule of the week!

Patrons Construct a Pirate Ship For the Shire

Visiting guests construct their own pirate ship to parade on the shire! Guests are encouraged to come to the Faire dressed in garb of their own. Experience the Fantasy firsthand!

The Ceremonial Firing of the Guns

The Pirates of the Shire ceremoniously open the gates with the Firing of the Guns!

Visit the Sea Hag, the Faire's very own run-aground Pirate Ship on Swashbuckler Lane and the all too famous Pirate Auction, and of course the Pirate's Den on Privy Lane for the scurviest Piratical shopping!

Swashbuckling Competitions, Ceremonies & Contests!

  1. Explorer's Treasure Hunt (Throughout the Shire and Throughout the Day!): For all young adventurers, grab your maps at the Front Gate as the Treasure Hunt begins anew! Scour the Shire, search high and low for clues, piece the puzzle together, and surely ye shall be rewarded with a great treasure indeed!

  2. The Swashbuckler's Tests of Daring Do
    (3:30 in the Gaming Glen)
    : All explorers, adventurers, and people of devil-may-care personalities are welcome to this ultimate competition of Swashbucklery Prowess. Can you laugh fearlessly in the face of danger? Can you match your rapier with rapier wit? Can you hold that charming smile even as you fall off Jacob's Ladder? Be ye rogue or maiden, young or old, come test yourself against the Shire's most dashing swashbucklers in a competition where fantastic Faire prizes abound! (Registration at the Gaming Glen 2:30-3:30)

    1st Place Winners receive 2 tickets to the Rainbow Dinner Theater and a $50 Gift Certificate to the Quentin Tavern!

    2nd Place Winners receive 2 tickets to Cherry Crest Adventure Farm and 1 Ticket to Laserdome!

    3rd Place Winners receive 2 tickets to the Whitaker Center.

  3. Adventurer's Parade
    (Join the Parade at 3:45 outside the Globe)
    : Pirates, privateers, swordsmen, and heroes young and old are invited to parade and process in the Magical Merriement Parade.

  4. The Swashbuckler Steeple Chase
    (2:00 on the Chess Board)

    'Tis well known that the true test of a hero lies in his ability to save a damsel-in-distress, and this exciting couples' competition is your chance! Daring gallants must rescue their loves from certain death and escape through the Shire's famous Obstacle Course of Doom and Destruction. The best couple will win their Happily Ever After with a romantic getaway!

    1st Place Winners receive an overnight stay at Comfort Inn New Holland and a $50 gift certificate to Doc Holliday's!

    2nd Place Winners receive 2 tickets to the Rainbow Dinner Theater and a $50 Gift Certificate to Quentin Tavern!
