Competitions & Events

In addition to all the shows and events throughout the day during Summer Youth Day, your groups can also become involved with or take part in the following:

• Poster Competition:
  Create a poster of heraldry of yore and receive ribbons and accolades! See the Study Guide for more information.
  
  
• Lord & Lady:
  Choose a male and female candidate from your group for a Lord & Lady Knighting Ceremony where your group is honored by the Queen and Her Court for oustanding achievement in the arts, academics or athletics.
  
  
• Costume Parade:
  Have your group dress in the clothing of the 16th century and parade their costumes throughout the Shire of Mount Hope.
  
  
• Silly School:
  Using their pre-trip made juggling balls, students learn the art of juggling from some "very foolish" reliable mentors!
  
  
• Stage Combat Workshop:
  The knights and warriors of the realm come forward and share their secrets to their fighting prowess and skills!
  
  
• Music Workshop:
  Learn a Renaissance Faire song and mayhap perform it at the Finale and Song in front of Her Most Royal Majesty, Queen Elizabeth.
