THE PYRATES RETURN TO THE PENNSYLVANIA RENAISSANCE FAIRE!
October 3 & 4, 2009

WHO:

The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire

WHAT:

The pyrates are back to set the Shire of Mount Hope ablaze with more rollicking tales and sea shanties! Get hooked on a Pyrate’s life as the 29th season of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire continues!

WHEN:

Saturday and Sunday, October 3 & 4, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m.


WHERE :

The Royal grounds of Mount Hope Estate and Winery, Lancaster County, Rt. 72, ½ mile south of PA Turnpike Exit 266

WHY: To bring out the salty sea dog and buccaneer beauty in even the most reserved landlubber!


The Faire continues its 12 weekend run complete with 90 stage shows, scores of artisans, 22 Royal
Kitchens, award winning wines sampled daily, widely acclaimed ales and lagers brewed on-site and the
following additional entertainments!

THIS WEEKEND ONLY
A Lesson of Pyratical Mites – A chance for all future buccaneers to learn to look, talk and brandish a sword like a pyrate. Pyratical Dig for Buried Treasure – Young pyrates are invited to Pyrate Beach to dig for buried treasure. The Four Corners Pyrate Treasure Hunt – The Queen needs the help of all aspiring pyrates to find the treasure that said to be buried somewhere in the Shire! Pyrate’s Parade – Pyrates, privateers, swordsmen and heroes young and old are invited to parade and process in the Pyrate’s Parade.
BUT THERE’S MORE!
Captain’s Sea Legs Competition – Let the Queen’s ship test your sea legs as you test your piratical mettle by balancing yourself at the helm while shouting commands to your crew but be careful, you may feel the splash of the sea. Dandy Pirates: Comedy and Music – Two merry men perform side-splitting songs in musical harmony. Troupe Sahara – This group of women perform Middle-Eastern dances that are sure to delight young and old alike. Barely Balanced – Daily defying the rules of gravity, this trio of acrobats hurls colorful objects (and themselves!) through the air. Barely Balanced enchants audiences of all ages with their deathdefying stunts and hilarious banter.

Legend has it that there is a hidden treasure chest on the grounds of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire. Youngsters are invited to scour the Shire for clues to the chest’s whereabouts during the Four Corners Pyrate Treasure Hunt, part of the Pyrates Return Weekend, October 3 and 4.

Nipperkins can join the pirate crew of the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire October 3 and 4 during the “Lesson of Pyratical Mites” where they will be trained in how to walk, talk and act like a pirate. You better join the crew or you may find yourself walking the plank!

The Pyrates return to the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire October 3 and 4 and they have misplaced some of their treasure. Nipperkins age 6 and under can grab a shovel and help the pirates search for their lost loot in the Pyratical Dig sand pit.

Feel the spray of the ocean on your face as you take the helm during the Captain Sea Legs Competition, October 3 and 4, during the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire’s Pyrates Return weekend. Landlubbers compete for prizes by displaying their best pirate impersonation complete with commands and balancing on a ship rocking on the high seas.
